Review of Static Electric and magnetic fields, Time varying fields and Maxwell’s equations, Wave propagation in free space, dielectrics and conductors, Plane waves at boundaries and dispersive media, Transmission lines, Antenna fundamentals.

Objectives of the course:

(a) To derive Maxwell's equations for electromagnetic fields.

(b) To analyze electromagnetic wave propagation in free space, transmission lines and wave guides.

On completion of the course, student should be able to:

(a) State Maxwell's equations.

(b) Describe the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves in free-space and bounded media.
